11 Types of Empaths – Which Type of Empath Am I?

Empaths are people who are highly sensitive towards other people’s energies and emotions they are sending out. Also, empaths often take on the feelings, thoughts, and emotions of those around them.

The term ”empath” is derived from the Greek words ”em” meaning ”in” and ”pathos” meaning ”feeling.”

Roger Ebert said:

“I believe empathy is the most essential quality of civilization.”

A study from the Journal of Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews suggested that females are more empathic as a result of neurological adaptation to the traditional role of child-rearing, as it needs a sharper understanding of non-verbal expressions.

List Of 11 Types Of Empaths:

#1 Geomantic

Geomantic empathy, also called environmental empathy, represents the ability of a person to feel the presence in certain places and be miraculously drawn to them.

The geomantic empath can also read the signals and energy transmitted by the earth. In addition, many geomantic empaths are able to predict natural disasters before they occur.

#2 Emotional

An emotional empath experiences mood swings and often feels as if his emotions don’t match your experience (i.e., being unexplainably sad when grocery shopping).

He also feels things about places, ideas, people, etc. and always ends up being right.

Furthermore, emotional empaths typically have natural therapist tendencies, and a few empaths even follow this career path.

#3 Precognitivemeditation on beach

Precognition is called future vision. It is the ability to know the future. Anyone could be a precognitive empath. You can develop this ability by practicing and opening your mind to extrasensory perception or it could be your gift by birth.

Precognitive empaths have lucid and vivid dreams. That is why these types of empaths hold on to subtle details of their dreams for days and months.

Note – keep in mind that interpreting signs and symbols in dreams is a complicated process and often needs in-depth analysis.

Déjà vu is also a common occurrence for precognitive empaths. Déjà vu describes a phenomenon where an event takes place in front of you and feels like you’ve seen it before. The earliest account of déjà vu-like experience is referred by Saint Augustine of Hippo (a fourth-century philosopher), who named it as “falsae memoriae.”

These are things which you should pay close attention to, for instance, the events which follow your experience.

Another sign that you are a precognitive empath is that you suddenly become anxious prior to an event. This may be your precognitive capabilities trying to warn you of what’s coming.

Additionally, you may get a bad feeling suddenly or even have a vision of something happening.

#4 Earthman practicing a meditation in nature

Earth empaths are a type of people who are keenly attuned to the natural world and all of the Earth’s changes.

If you are an Earth empath, you feel strongly connected to nature and what is happening on the earth plane.

In addition, you may be someone who senses the pain of a forest and its trees being scorched during a brush fire.

Also, you may be someone who senses grief or sadness before you hear about something devastating on the news.

Note – Earth empaths may have premonitions about natural disasters or feel them intensely in their bodies as they are occurring.

#5 Telepathicwoman meditation energy

Telepathy is the ability to read what another person is thinking.

It mostly works with people you are close to, for you form a bond if you are particularly close and can be able to know naturally what they are thinking. In addition, telepathy is part of your meditations, dream time, and numerous other things you do without even realizing it.

A telepath empath can listen to the entire being which allows him to access a boundless amount of wisdom, information, and cognition in a nanosecond.

Note – unlike the communication we are typically used to, which is limited by the time-space continuum, a telepath empath can communicate all the rich information, that is beyond any language, regardless of time and space.

#11 Mediumthird eye woman

Mediumship is a blip up on the energetic scale from the psychic ability.

It is the capacity to detect and communicate with Spirits – that has an energetic frequency that vibrates very fast – because Spirits no longer have a dense physical body to deal with.

A medium empath is an individual who has fine-tuned her or his extrasensory perception and can interface with the spirits in other dimensions.

Also, he is able to feel and/or hear thoughts, voices, or mental impressions from the spirit world.

Moreover, a medium empath is able to become completely receptive to the higher energies or frequency on which spirit people vibrate.

    • I am an empath. As a child I used to be a medium empath. I could hear them. They would reach me in my dreams also. I could feel them and would have visions about them but I was young and I didn’t understand what was going on. I lost my ability to communicate with the spirit world and I would like to know how to open that door again. I just didn’t know what was going on, I was a child. Now as an adult I wish I could reopen that door so badly. If anybody has any advice on how to do that please email me thanks

    • Perhaps it would help you to learn some good shielding and cleansing methods. As a bodyworker in training I have learned that practicing mindfulness and grounding can help to prevent emotional fatigue and being worn out by those around you or your work. I have felt a similar way many times that others are often selfminded or simple, but all beings must look out for themselves to survive, and most people have a lot more to reveal than even we might find. Remember that it is not your responsibility to take on the pain of others, even if you are working to help them transmute their negative emotional state. If there are certain people in your life who are consistently draining you because of their toxic attitude or behavior, it is your right to let them go or cut them out of your life. If you are weary of people, you may always take solace in nature. I wish you well in your journey.

    • I’m right there with you. Knowing everyone’s full intentions right off the bat without even having to have more than two minutes of an uncomfortable conversation especially when it’s people you’re close to and then no. It’s hard it’s heartbreaking

Draining very draining at times but we have to remember all the good that we are able to provide and I tend to stick with the youth as well. Like seeks like

I certainly believe you can change the world by changing one persons world at a time because there are good people out there but we’re just drowning in terrible intentions horrible things being done by people and reading what some people say on a generic post on Facebook can just break you it feels like a lost cause but I suppose for the people that are receptive to a kind soul it’s not. As someone who’s just going through thisAnd realizing that all this pain and suffering is for a better purpose, it’s the best thing I can hope for

  2. Don’t know what type of empathy I am. I feel everything other people feel. It’s hard for other people to understand my emotions. Can you give me some kind of an idea? A well known psychic reader told me I should be sitting in her seat. Thank you, Janet. [email protected]

  3. I believe that I am a mixer of all empaths. My family thru the years all the women have been this type of empath. I need learn how to ground myself. I know a few things, the older I get the more intense it is getting.
