Adult (or child) indigos are a group of souls that were sent as forerunners to help in the transition of consciousness of this planet. An indigo child is an intelligent, powerful, independent child, who will help improve the spiritual quality of the world.
Being Indigo is not just a personality trait or a color in your aura, but it’s operating with a different „internal software” that won’t just go away so you can fit in (the Indigo person should not be confused with the color indigo, it is not the same thing and there is no connection).
What Is An Indigo Child?
The term „indigo child” was first introduced by Nancy Ann Tappe, a counselor, and teacher, who studied the human auric field and classified people’s personalities according to the hue of their auras.
„Usually each universal age is accompanied by a preponderance of people with that life color. For instance, now most adults are either Blue or Violet, the two colors with the attributes most needed in this Violet Age of transition.
During the next age, the Indigo Age, Indigo colors will be the norm.” – (Understanding Your Life Through Color – Nancy Ann Tappe)
The signs of an indigo child actually began even as early as in the 1950s with a few people. What she noticed was that 80% of the children born after 1980 had a new deep blue colored auric field. She called this new color „indigo”.
Additionally, the term „indigo” may have come from the color of the Ajna chakra or third eye chakra. There’s a theory that indigos are largely governed by the Ajna chakra, which explains several of their traits.
Too many indigo children are misdiagnosed as ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) or autistic. Most of these children have acute diet and food sensitivities, particularly to processed foods and food additives.
Note – children who have regularly prescribed medication, lose their abilities. Why? Because ADHD drugs will put them in a limited mental state where they will follow the flow.
Other indigo children, who have no support or are people who can not communicate with them or help them to cultivate their capacities may also become dull or lose their ability. Some kids are ridiculed and like other gifted kids will suppress their abilities.
12 Indigo Adult (or Child) Characteristics and Signs:
#1 Burning Desire For Change
They have a burning desire to do something to change the controlling systems and improve the world.
Are often perceived by friends and family as being strange.
They have a strong intuition. Moreover, they are able to tell when a person is lying or has an ulterior motive.
Indigos can sense people’s underlying motivations, frequent seeing past socially constructed facades.
#4 Money Is Not The Most Important Thing
Money does not hold a lot of importance to them.
They know how to attain it, but they find the concept of money to be ego driven and irrelevant.
#5 Inclined Towards Spirituality From a Young Age
They have a strong innate subconscious spirituality from early childhood (this does not necessarily imply a direct interest in spiritual or religious areas).
#6 Warrior Spirit
They have a „warrior spirit.”
This reveals differently depending on the situation and the personality; this can look like discovering and igniting a fire within, that encourages them to bring their ideas down to the third dimension through their creations.
They have an independent spirit. They will not be ordered around by so-called „authority figures.”
On a deep level, indigos do not recognize „authority.” They know we are all equal, and so they are enraged by those who assume authority and behave dictatorially.
#8 Working A 9-5 Job is Not For Them
Indigos prefer occupations which grant them the freedom to connect with life in its many forms.
They are not followers and, thus, usually do not do well in service-oriented occupations, preferring instead to be self-employed or in leadership positions.
Socially and at home, they are commonly uncomfortable with the mainstream lifestyle.
They may have experienced feelings of helplessness and deep depression.
These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings, while in high school or younger, are not surprising in the indigo adult.
#10 Endurance Exercises
Very few indigos are interested in aggressive sports such as hockey and football.
They would rather spend their physical exercise time and energy in personal achievement and outdoor sports such as field and track, mountain climbing, skateboarding, cycling, kayaking, etc.
They are also attracted to self-defense and discipline sports such as fencing and martial arts.
#11 Highly Intelligent
Indigo people have a special way about them, a sense of being very intelligent in many fields, but do not brag about their intelligence.
Intelligence is part of their personality from birth. Indigos integrate their intelligence with a higher understanding, awareness, and consciousness.
In addition, they are aware and bright in their perceptions of humanity and the Universe and are guided by their intuitions and inner knowledge.
#12 Deep Perception
They are considered to be profound in their perceptions and feelings about life.
Adults have an intense interest in philosophy, spirituality, paranormal, metaphysics, alchemy, astrology, numerology, esoterical knowledge, and arcane mysteries.
For most, this interest began at a young age and culminates into a heartfelt passion later in life.
Indigos and people who are awakened to their true nature share an internal desire to be in a state of love and spread truth in a world that is overwhelmed by fear. There is an understanding that a fundamental shift in consciousness is important in building a new reality.
