Raku Reiki Symbol Meaning – The Completion Symbol

Reiki is a hands-on, energy-based therapy that channels and directs the flow of universal energy to the sufferer. Reiki energy can also be sent at a distance, anywhere in the world.

Reiki, in its current form, was first developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist called Mikao Usui.

The Reiki symbols have been the source of great interest and much discussion over the years. Traditionally, they were held in secrecy and were only revealed to students of Reiki by a teacher during initiation. Today, these symbols are available online and in books.

Raku symbol (pronounced Ra-Koo), also known as the “Lightning Bolt” or the “Fire Serpent,”  is used in the Master level of Reiki in the attunement process.

The symbol is said to represent the chi, prana, or the life force energy that runs down the spine through the chakras.

Raku reiki symbol (or the completion symbol) uses:

This symbol is used to seal the attunement process by closing the chakras of the student and grounding the student.

The completion symbol also plays an important part in separating the energies of the student and that of the master after the attunement has been completed, thus ending the attunement process.

The symbol (visualized in pink or violet color) is drawn quite simply in the form of a lightning bolt, which represents the transfer of energy down from heavens to Earth, or from the healer to the receiver.

The origin of the symbol is not known, as it is not an original symbol that was taught by Mikao Usui. It is speculated that its origins are Tibetan and that Reiki Master Iris Ishikuro incorporated the symbol into her Reiki Practice, which she named Raku Kei Reiki.

Together with the Tibetan Dai Ko Mio, this symbol appears to create another means of accessing the Great Spirit. Some believe theta Raku symbol helps to lift negative karma and takes the disciple to higher levels of consciousness.

This Reiki symbol is a great harmonizer and is excellent for centering energies. The major focus for this is in balancing and centering your chakras and aura. This centering helps you receive and channel more reiki.
