14 Ways To Remove Negative Energy From Your House

Even if it’s hard to believe, there are some old and negative energies in your home that accumulate over time.

Energy reminiscences can be a result of thoughts, emotions, and negative events, as well as stress in the house.

Our home acts like a sponge. All energies are absorbed by walls, furniture, ceiling, rugs, and all the objects in the house. Most often, these negative energies accumulate in the corners of the rooms and in the most hidden places.

The following situations are especially important for having a house clearing:

  • when you move into a new space;
  • if you often work with energetically “draining” people;
  • when a companion or roommate moves out;
  • transitioning from co-dependent or abusive relationships;
  • after you remove clutter;
  • after a job change, move, or major life transition;
  • after an intense argument;
  • after the death of a loved one;
  • after a break-up or divorce;
  • before implementing feng shui;
  • when you buy a second-hand or antique item;
  • after illness;
  • anytime you desire fresh energy for a new beginning or project.

List Of 14 Ways To Remove Negative Energy From Your House:

#1 Sea Salt

Using salt is an excellent cleansing method, particularly if you’re doing a deep energy cleansing of your home. You can do this by salting the corners of each room. You can also sprinkle salt on your carpets and across the floor overnight.

Leave overnight if possible and then vacuum the salt up. Also, don’t forget to discard the bag outside.

The salt will suck up the negative energies in your household and from there they can be vacuumed up and forgotten.

Another way is to use a Himalayan salt lamp. These salt lamps emit a beautiful, soothing light with a natural, orange glow that doesn’t disrupt sleep cycles like blue or fluorescent lights do.

Additionally, these salt lamps release negative ions into the air when lit, which purifies the air by fighting against positively charged particles which cause you to feel stuffy and sluggish.

#2 Chant A Mantra

Mantras, also known as sounds into silence, can have a healing, positive, and purifying influence on you, your workspace, car, and home.

Here’s how to use it: chant “OM” or “AUM” in the room for 15 minutes.

Reciting the OM mantra daily will give peace to your mind, soul, and body.

Moreover, this mantra disperses dirty energy, that is why it is universally used as part of many meditation routines to clear the mind of thoughts. It will also aid your digestion.

#3 Plants

Plants are living things and the closest thing to nature you can put inside your own house.
Indoor plants can purify the air, amplifying the sense of well-being, and rid you of emotional stress. Also, they boost positive vibes and increase the flow of energy into space.

Moreover, they absorb toxic chemicals through the tiny openings in their leaves and filter them through their root system.

#4 Smudging

Raise The Energy In Your House With Smudging

Smudging is a symbolic exercise found in feng shui practice, alternative healing practices, and many Native American traditions.

Smudging is ritual alchemy — shifting and changing the air element, and transforming our current experience to a mystical one.

The smoke is also thought to bless spaces by clearing out negative emotions such as anger, stress, or tension lingering after an event or harmful energies left by individuals who visited your home.

Smudging is usually done by burning white sage bundles. Some people also use:

  • cypress;
  • pine needles;
  • juniper;
  • sweet grass;
  • cedar;
  • tobacco.

There are only several supplies you will need in order to smudge your house, such as:

  • bowl with sand;
  • fireproof container;
  • candle and matches;
  • smudge stick.

How Do I Do It?

  1. Start by taking a match and striking it against the box to create a fire.
  2. Holding the smudge stick in your free hand, let the fire catch hold for about half a minute.
  3. Dispose of the match stick.
  4. The herbs should start producing smoke now.
  5. Walk around the room you want to cleanse. Go from corner to corner and let the smoke fill the room.
  6. Once you feel like you’ve sufficiently cleansed your house, extinguish the fire of the smudge stick by stubbing it against the bottom of the bowl.
  7. Give thanks to the Earth for the plants that you used.

#5 Color Therapy

Never use dark colors at your house since dark colors have the capacity to keep negative energies locked into the room.

Tip – make sure the rooms, furniture, and décor are enhanced with colors that emit positive energy like golden, yellow, or pastel shades.

#6 Get Rid Of ClutterGet Rid Of Clutter

Keep your house clean and free of clutter. This is important since negative energy tends to accumulate in dark and cluttered spaces.

Note – vacuuming, dusting, cleaning toilets, etc., is something that really helps to keep energy within a space clean and clear. In a way, this is only common sense.

#7 Meditate

Meditate on love and compassion. Bring the feelings of compassion and love up and let them strengthen within you. Then, radiate them outward into your house.

#8 Crystals

Black tourmaline is one of the best crystals for clearing negative energy due to the fact that it does not need its own energy to be cleared as other crystals do.

Here’s how to use it: place in the center of your home to radiate outward throughout your entire space, or place it in your home’s entryway to repel any potential negative energy from entering.

Also, selenite is useful since it raises the vibration of your space as well as it cleanses.

#9 Tibetan Singing Bowls

Singing bowls are powerful tools for breaking up stagnant energy. Metal singing bowls are particularly good at stimulating a fresh circulation of grounding energy.

Tip – move through your home one room at a time. In each place, produce a sound from your Tibetan singing bowl by striking it several times.

Our mental state will manifest into our reality, therefore, it is essential that we keep a clear and positive mindstate. Bless your house with a verbal prayer to make your space a place of joy, peace, and prosperity.

#12 Rearrange The Furniture

Negative energy needs something to “cling to.” Thus, arrange your room with as much wide open space as possible, allowing any negative energy to disperse.

#13 Essential OilsClove essential oil for good luck

Essential oils have been used since ancient times to help promote positivity and release negative energy. There are hundreds to choose from, but frankincense is one of my favorite go-to essential oils for clearing out stagnant energy and grounding.

Other effective essential oils for clearing stagnant energy are:

  • lavender;
  • eucalyptus;
  • sandalwood.

#14 Fresh Air & Sunlight

Open all windows and drapes to let fresh air and sunlight in if at all possible. The solar rays of the sun and an infusion of new air will permit the life-giving power of prana to flood in.
