#1 Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah Mantra

This mantra is for Peace invocation or a Shanti mantra from the Upanishads.

The word “shanti” literally translates as “peace” and is a small and important step towards our true nature – inner peace.

The meaning of the mantra in English:

”May all be happy.
May all be healthy.
May all enjoy prosperity.
May none suffer.

#2 Gayatri Mantra

This mantra is actually a prayer that can well be spoken with yearning by women and men of all climes and creeds in all centuries.

The chant has all the 3 elements that figure in the adoration of God – meditation, praise, and prayer. It is considered to be the Essence of the Vedas knowledge.

Lyrics:

”Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ
Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ
Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi
Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt.”

Meaning:

”We meditate upon the spiritual effulgence of that adorable supreme divine reality.
Who is the source of the physical, the astral and the heavenly spheres of existence.
May that supreme divine being enlighten our intellect so that we may realize the supreme truth.”

#3 Om Namah Shivaya Mantra

This mantra is considered to be the five-lettered mantra related to Lord Shiva. It is a peaceful chant and a great redeeming mantra.

If the Om Namah Shivaya mantra vibrates continually in your heart, then you have no need to meditate, perform austerities, or practice yoga.

Meaning:

”Bowing to the supreme reality, Lord Shiva; the name which is given to the consciousness that dwells in all.”

#4 Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

Anybody can recite this mantra and attain good health and release from bondage and other problems. Also, it is said to be quite beneficial for emotional, mental, and physical health.

Mahamrityunjaya mantra is from the Rig-Veda, and it is also known as Rudra mantra and Mrita-Sanjivini mantra.

”Om Tryambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat”

Meaning:

”We Meditate on the Three-eyed reality
Which permeates and nourishes all like a fragrance.
May we be liberated from death for the sake of immortality,
Even as the cucumber is severed from bondage to the creeper.”

#5 Purusha Suktam

The Purusha Suktam is one of the Pancha Suktams of the Sri Vaishnava sampradaya or tradition.

This powerful Sukta is charged with a fivefold force potent enough to rouse God-experience in the seeker.

#6 Navagraha Mantra

This ancient mantra has the power to remove the malefic and negative effects of all nine planets.

‘Nava’ translates as nine and ‘Graha’ as ”planet.” Hence, this chant is a mantra for the nine planets.

”Shamno mitra, sham varuna
