Andy Puddicombe All it Takes is 10 Mindful Minutes TED Talk:

Andi Puddicombe born on 23rd September 1972 in Bristol UK is an ex-Buddhist monk, author of The Headspace Diet: 10 days to finding (2011) your ideal weight and Get Some Headspace: How Mindfulness Can Change Your Life in Ten Minutes a Day (2013).

In 2010, he founded Headspace, a digital health company which includes a mobile application to help users learn mindfulness meditation.

When the mind is full of memories and preoccupied with the future, it misses the freshness of the present moment. In this way, we fail to recognize the luminous simplicity of mind that is always present behind the veils of thought.” – Matthieu Ricard’s quote.

In 2012 Andy held this Ted talk named “All it takes is 10 mindful minutes” (over four million views) on the subject mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness meditation is similar to Buddhist Vipassana meditation and Zen meditation. Mindfulness meditation is a simple method in which we must be in the present moment, not thinking about the past or future, just observing our breath. Some research suggests that mindfulness meditation may improve mood, decrease stress, and boost immune function.

“Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it.” – Eckhart Tolle’s quote.

“If you’re studying for an exam you’re not thinking about the results. If you’re always worried about the results, you can’t study a lot. So to be engaged and detached from the outcome is excellent. Excellence is behavior. I mean, isn’t that what martial arts is about? And that’s what meditation is about, that’s what, in many ways, sports are about.” – Deepak Chopra’s quote.
