Spiritual Awakening Signs And Symptoms – Ascension Signs

Many of us, at some point or another, try to reach a certain state of being and existing. But how many people actually reach their goal? An alarmingly low number.

Throughout the ages, there have been numerous spiritual healers and teachers who have tried to help everyone understand the deeper meanings of life.

But how many people have actually listened? An alarmingly low number.

There are even films, and especially poetry anthologies or novels that are valiantly attempting to make us wake up and see things through the eyes of the truth.

But how many people have truly seen? An alarmingly low number.

Fortunately, there are awakened people out there. Think Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carrey, and Russell Brand.

They are not perfect people. But this is exactly what makes them spiritually awakened.

Want to hear some amazing news? You might be a part of the small percentage of people who, in fact, have or currently are experiencing a spiritual awakening.

Below, you can find 6 of the most crucial signs and symptoms of ascension or a spiritual awakening.

Beforehand, however, let us dive into the definition of “ascension” as this tends to be the main hurdle between standard living and awakening.

What Is Ascension?

Simply put, ascension is the act of rising to a higher position or upgrading to a more important level.

This is often referred to as reaching nirvana or “waking up”. It can happen at any age, and at any time. However, there is usually a definitive process involved.

Oftentimes, ascension happens when you stop pining for the future, filtering all scenarios through your ego, and clinging to the past.

Upon awakening, you will finally be able to be entirely self-aware and connected to everything/everyone around you.

Take a look at the signs to see if this process has already begun inside you.

Listed Below Are 6 Of The Most Important Spiritual Awakening Signs And Symptoms:

1. The Physical LevelThe Most Important Spiritual Awakening Signs And Symptoms

We may experience:

  • Profound fatigue, softness of the body, breathing arrhythmias, cardiac arrhythmias, lack of force in the arms, hands, and legs.
  • Back pain that seems to come from within the body, burning sensations, a high temperature in some areas of the body, or on the whole.
  • Pain and burning of the sacral bone.
  • Pain in the backhead, shoulders, and spine.
  • Back muscle pain, torticollis, blockage of the muscle fiber.
  • Heat/burning sensations around the head and the feet, chest, and pelvic area.
  • “Strange” headaches.

These spiritual awakening signs are fleeting and do not appear all at once, nor is it mandatory to experience all these sensations physically.

They are signs of deep inner transformation on the cellular and DNA level.

The right attitude towards these physical symptoms is observation and acceptance.

2. Energetical Level

energy in hands

“Strange” sensations in the body, as if there were energy flow distortions within the body.

There may also be tingles, warm/cold feeling, “electricity” sensations, the extreme sensitivity of the sense of touch, the sensation of “inner space”.

It is possible to feel acutely any place within the body and extreme sensitivity to the environment.

Inner states can quickly resonate with nearby people’s states.

The being opens in terms of energy. Some of you may see energetical phenomena, light fields, auras.

The extreme sensitivity of all the senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste, or conversely, a decrease of the senses. Any touch becomes extremely sensitive.

Observation and quiet exploration of these phenomena is the right attitude.

3. Emotional Levelmeditation woman

Emotions sometimes take extreme proportions and intensities, whatever they may be, from sadness to anger, from despair and discouragement to the most alive enthusiasm and explosive joy.

Inner emotional space acquires depth and volume and can sometimes manifest itself without being stopped and without apparent reasons.

Sadness can sometimes become a depressive state.

Before resorting to means of suppressing these states, remember that you KNOW what is going on.

Enter these emotional states with courage, acceptance, becoming their observers, and embracing them.

The emotional level and the energetical level are working together with the physical one.

It is possible that physical, emotional, and energetical signs to appear all together. We don’t hold on to these states, we don’t judge them as being good or bad, we are just aware of them.

4. Mental Levelenergy calm meditation

We may experience compulsive and repetitive thinking.

Thought, reason, seem to behave like a broken computer, in a loop. Mental structures and series of structures may occur, seemingly repeating endlessly, accompanied by fear and worry of not “going crazy”.

Thoughts that emerge may seem familiar, but they are not ours. And so it is, for the transformation process leads to communication with others on levels that we have not experienced before.

They are collective levels of Consciousness containing collective patterns of thinking. However, we are aware of the nature of the patterns and these mental interferences.

Thoughts are energy forms modulated by a certain pattern and the more people modulate energy the same way, the stronger the pattern is.

Thought mechanisms are responsible for causing the states of fear.

The antidote to fear – always remember this – is love.

We are not one with our thoughts, so we can approach them as we wish. So we receive them, we observe and integrate them, and allow them to dissolve in that sacred space of our heart.

5. Personal Life Levelmeditation energy sunshine

Strong upheavals may occur in our private life, the feeling that everything is falling apart around us: job, relationships, family, friends. It seems that one world prepares to disappear in order to make way for a new one.

This is true. Our old life disappears because we ourselves dissolve and step into a new life.

This is not a metaphor but sometimes a really tough truth.

Many of us will change the job, family, friends, city, or country in which we live. In other words, we free ourselves from our old personality and life, stepping into a new dimension.

Sometimes we ourselves will feel the need to change all that, we will feel that we do not fit with those we knew so well, our job, with those we love, and eventually we will make the choice and somehow walk away.

Sometimes we find out that our job is “taken” from us, the family falls apart, and through strange cosmic magic, our whole reality reconfigures, apparently against our will, feeding our existential fear.

All these are part of the big Transformation. The outside follows the inner changes.

Knowing this, we will not fear, but welcome the changes observing them from the sacred and quiet place of our heart.

Many of our friends will not accept these changes, they will think that we are going crazy and need help, they will give us advice and go against our decisions, asking us to “come down to earth.”

But Inner Transformation is a personal matter, which we must cross alone, until we find those like us, going through the same transformation.

6. Inner Feelingsmeditation couple

Anguish, anxiety, and uncertainty during the day can be doubled by strange states during the night, as if our feet were in two worlds, here and there, now and ever; we perceive linear time, yet another time dimension.

Our dreams can become strange, agitated, and may contain archetypal elements. Also, the intensity of these dreams is greater than ever as we experience mixed feelings.

Somehow we know all this, but we do not understand it and our mind finds them absurd and incomprehensible.

Sequences of battles, chases that happen in strange worlds, characters that look familiar come and go in these dreams. Also, during our dreams, we may experience powerful sequences of death and rebirth.

They are healing and transformative.

There are just downloads of some content of Consciousness, passing through us.

There are parts of us dying so that they become something else.

Final Wordsinsomnia

Sleep may become erratic, restless; also, we can wake up tired and with a sore body. Sometimes we will have trouble sleeping or wake up at strange hours in the morning before sunrise without being able to fall asleep.

We live all this knowing that it is the natural course of the process that we experience.

Gradually, the initial upheaval settles as we recognize the transformation process.

We gain confidence in ourselves, our dilated senses become our new perceptive means, we start looking for solutions within us, listen, thus discovering the answers to our questions within ourselves.

We discover that we simply KNOW. It is a new level of communication with ourselves.

Our dreams take on new dimensions and depths. We gain inner coherence and fluidity as we succeed more often to sit in a quiet inner space. The ability to observe and understand what happens increases.

Knowledge does not appear as a result of deductive, logical, or sequential processes, but comes suddenly, completely, totally from the inside.

Kabir Helminski, a Sufi teacher in the Mevlevi Order (a Sufi order that was founded by the followers of Jalaluddin Rumi), explained:

“Once the spiritual journey begins, we leave the circumference of the circle and begin to travel along the radius of divine wisdom to reach the Center.”

3 months and counting since my event of significance. Every single sign, apart from the dreams, I have experienced. I have accepted the process of death and rebirth. Meditation has started to help very much in recognizing capabilities. That and diet seem to be critical. I’d advise anyone to put down ANY drugs, tobacco or alcohol.

I lost EVERYTHING, but I gained my sense of self worth and clear perspective on what I will and will not accept. I remain sincere in my gratitude and faith. My circle of friends hasn’t thinned, per se, but I suddenly feel like Neo in the Matrix - I’m the anomaly that nobody gets, and I simply don’t care if they do. At an instant it seemed my very best friends were asking me what drug I was on and urging me to go see a doctor. My job was quick to let me go, as there was no way to explain this long lasting “illness”. I just moved into an nice apartment (erratically, to escape whatever was in the last apartment that was after me) and it will likely be the next to go. My bank account went from +6500 to -900 while I fought “bugs”. My mind becomes consumed at times with the aspects of this newfound gift. (You’ll see what I mean, almost certainly.)Trees and bushes terrified me at first. If something of this nature happens to you, my suggestion is to never turn away and keep looking. You will see there are many ways to see the same thing. Also, time and memory seem to elude me at times, which I’m told is normal in this stage. ;)

I now know this is the process, but time passed has been tumultuous. Believing a resolve to this exists and is coming keeps me going. I am very familiar with the feeling of despair however. Nevertheless, the closer you get to the truth it is amazing the help you’ll attract. There will be help, no doubt, but it seems you must first help yourself.

My empathy for my own and others’ feelings is beyond communication. A friend gave me a bracelet of abalone which seems to have quelled the mood swings and calmed me to see and accept the answers being offered. If at times I feel overwhelmed, I gaze into it and am carried away in its awe.

My conclusion is there is no conclusion. This article has been helpful, but had I realized what was happening long ago it would have been more helpful in the journey to acceptance and beyond. Many thanks to the author and fellow contributors for offering guidance to the real truth. It is very hard when you have no idea and the event of significance is upon you.

For the record, I’ve had 7 different doctors diagnosis and two shrinks confirm that I am not crazy, just “tormented”. Even I thought it may be a psychotic episode or some form of PSTD from an unremembered past, but if you that you know that you know, then you know you’re not crazy. Never apologize for your awareness. You can’t make people see what they are not prepared to see. In the end you’ll only fill yourself with anxiety and alienate everyone around you. ;)

For me it was quite traumatic and the more I sought to know, the more the answers eluded me, as if there was some conspiracy. Some secret everyone knew except me. It was as if I was the new star of “The Truman Show”. I started to think I was seriously losing my mind and cut myself off from all electronics and communication so I could run a check on my mind for myself. But it was my soul calling out to me regarding how unhappy it was in this vessel. I was seriously out of alignment. The only solid answer I received was that I was in the fight of my life and it would be up to me to survive.

I have collected quite a few bookmarks if you find yourself as I was...shall I say...”Screaming From A Coffin”. I am constantly cultivating and happy to share if you have an interest. We are here on this planet, in this time, to help and nurture each other and the journey is without end. Infinite Waters on YouTube has been surprisingly helpful for me.

I do, and forever will, have remaining questions; starting with the characters of consciousness I have been seeing everywhere. If anyone knows, please share.

Peace, love and wishes abound...there’s more than enough for everybody.

I have experienced many of the symptoms listed here. The most uncomfortable symptom is my breathing. It feels like the breath is stuck around the heart area. I can breath but am unable to get a deep breath.. I'm reminded of how a valve works .. moving up and down when working as it should and getting stuck intermittently when it's not working properly. My physical body has been checked out in the hospital and by my family doctor and everything comes out normal. I'm not sure what to do next. I have meditated daily for many years and find that I find the most comfort during meditation.. I wonder is there anyone else out there who shares this symptom?

I used to feel the same way for a long time. I honestly couldn't understand why people say to concentrate in your breath when meditating to relax because it just caused me to feel like I was suffocating. However while looking for a way to naturally treat my sleep apnea I came across the Buteyko Method. It's a breathing based therapy that you can learn very easily by watching videos online, just search youtube. Its wonderfully effective and very scientific.

Lovely piece, really. Makes it so clear that on the path all of us have to face our shadows. But most of the "signs and symptoms" described above are as well the symptoms of a severe psychotic episode and/or a schizophrenia. Not saying it can't be enlightenment, but if you experience a state of being similar to the description, I am strongly suggesting to talk about it to someone like a therapist or at least a down to earth spiritual friend.

The symptoms you attribute to psychotic or schizophrenia are based on modern, western, medical thought.

There is ancient knowledge that one can attain through a spiritual awakening. Advancement of universal information is sometimes jarring to the human body, after all, we are controlled by our mind & thoughts.

Physical and mental characteristics often mimic each other.

Once you identify that there are two types of phenomenon, you are able to distinguish which belongs to a spiritual awakening and which can be “classified” as a “true” mental disorder.

This author has written a thoughtful article that many people will be able to relate to and find comfort in.

Hi Rene. I think this quote pretty much covers the answer to your question. „The Only Thing That Is Constant Is Change.” - Heraclitus. Enjoy your journey as a spiritual being, without focusing on your destination.
